FEAR NO MORE
Hello my dear readers,
Today I'm writing this blog in order to show my understanding towards the well known poem "FEAR NO MORE" which is a part of the well known play "CYMBELINE".
FEAR NO MORE
The world famous play "CYMBELINE" is written by one of greatest dramatist "WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE" he needs no introduction but let's have a look on who was he,
INTRODUCTION
The above shown picture is the portrait of one of the greatest dramatist in the history"WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE". He is considered as the greatest english language writer, he was born on 26 April 1564 in the United Kingdom, and took his last breath on 23 April 1616. He is also considered as the NATIONAL POET OF ENGLAND.
FIRST STANZA
Fear no more the heat o' the sun,
Nor the furious winter's rages;
Thou thy wordly task hast done,
Home art gone,and ta'en thy wages:
Golden lads and girls all must,
As chimney-sweepers, come to dust.
In the above given first stanza onwards we can understand that what is going on in the poet's mind and what feelings he carry in this heart. We can get to know that the poet has an amount of emotions for the people who are no more between us. The poet describes that the dead ones are among the luckiest ones because they have to neither worry about the unbearable heat of the sun nor about the bone freezing cold in winter. The poet addresses the tyrants and the labours, rich and poor that the money or wealth is useless because a pit of 6 foot length is enough to mix them in dust!
SECOND STANZA
Fear no more the frown o' the great;
Thou art past the tyrant's strockes;
Care no more to clothe and eat;
To thee the reed is as the oak:
The scepter, learning, physic, must
All follow this, and come to dust.
In the second stanza the poet beautifully and diplomatically addresses to the poor people to not to worry about thinking and working for food and clothes (basic needs) because ones everyone is dead no one feel hunger and they will not have to bath and change clothes (no wasted of scares resources like water lol!!). A six foot long and two foot wide grave pit is enough for every person on earth whether he is rich our poor.
THIRD STANZA
Fear no more the lightning flash,
Nor the all dreaded thunder stone;
Fear not slander censure rash;
Thou hast finished joy and moan:
All lovers young all lovers must
Consign to thee, and come to dust.
The third stanza shows that the thinking power of the poem is totally different because he mentions that every type of fear is present in our body and not in our mind, ones the body is destroyed because of death every type of feelings either fear or love and affection is destroyed too. Neither the lighting flash nor the thnder stone is able to horify you when you die, when the person who has promised to stay together with each other are always ending up dying lonely and there after the dead person is free of every type of feelings and fears.
FOURTH STANZA
No exorciser harm thee!
Nor no witchcraft charm thee!
Ghost unlaid forbear thee!
Nothing ill come near thee!
Quiet consummation have;
And renowned by the grave!
In the fourth and the last stanza the poet ends his words by describing a few good aspects of death. The poet says that because of death people who are suffering with incurable disease can get relief, the above stanza is totally logical in many situations (personal opinion).
That's it guys this was a try to summarise the poem "FEAR NO MORE" hope you all liked my efforts and if there are any spelling mistakes or grammatical mistakes than kindly forgive me ths time!
THINKING ACTIVITY
Q-1) What is the significance of the title of the poem?
Ans- according to me the title "Fear no more" is the most appropriate title one can give to this poem.
Q-2) justify your understanding of the poem.
Ans- the above given explanation is totally depending on my understanding.
Q-3) What types of fear you have experienced till date?
Ans- when I was in 5th standard I was riding a horse and tried to cross the highway with the horse and I was riding without any elder's guidence, eventually a bus was coming rapidly to the point where I was trying to cross thankfully the driver was skilled so he immediately pressed brakes and the bus was slowed down and because horses can also judge very well so the horse showed his intelligence and seeing the bus coming closer he immediately speeded- up and Crossed the Highway and saved the lives of our both. If I was riding bike or cycle at that moment than you all were not reading my blog right now!!!.
Q-4) Do you believe in 'Supernatural Being'? If Yes/No. Provide atleast 2 or 3 reasons.
Ans- yes I believe in Supernatural beings there is some invisible energy which controls all the natural activities. There are two types of powers which makes a balance in the nature, one isthe positive Power due to which all the living organisms are able to survive and the other one is the nagative power which trys to harm us anyhow, for example (natural) :- earthquakes,floods, droughts, volcanic eruption etc.
So here ends my blog if you are still reading this than you are a true friend thanks for having patience being here!!☺️☺️☺️
Your's faithfully,
